It is not intended to be insulting or otherwise disparaging, but the golf talents of Charles Raney have nearly always been regarded in a negative context. Quietly, however, Raney has been honing his skills, and on Saturday, he stealthily put away Mike “The Champ” Rogers at the Northridge Country Club Championship Golf Tournament on the second extra hole.
The shattered Rogers, weakened by the defeat, fell pray to alcoholic delirium that evening and has remained in that state for most of the long weekend. An unfortunate ending for the Champ’s long reign, those close to the family report that he is presently under suicide watch.
